Warehouse stock analyser

The Challenge

A client in the oil and gas area requested the development of a system with advanced UX/UI, and a search engine to support the number of queries and volume of updated data. Like a “Google” for material in stock, in 78 identified stock rooms, the system received 92973 queries of information in 12 months. This system is used by all users, to observe the material of IT and Telecom in all warehouses and technical stock rooms (stock of maintenance department outside SAP MM).
The challenge was to develop a system to show data on the material in stock because the SAP reports, like the “MB52”, do not have the details of product PDM-Product Data Management. This was an important requirement for the end users, an easy system to query material in stock from SAP and other systems.

The solution:

We have developed a system to retrieve data and display the material in stock such as a web store specific for the ICT material, allowing users to query information from various data sources, including SAP, Inventory of material in Excel, and the Maintenance System (Technical stock outside SAP)..

Technology used:

Java, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, MSSQL, SAP, ETL.

Conclusion:

The IT department achieved the inventory reduction target scheduled for the year and reduced 5MM USD of materials with more than 90 days in stock. The system developed provided visibility of materials in stock from SAP and outside SAP in a unique system.
